GETTING MY LIPS DONE
NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS DID I THINK I WOULD GET MY LIPS DONE, ITS NOT LIKE I WAS UNHAPPY WITH THEM. BUT A FRIEND GOT HERS DONE AND THEN I COULDNT HELP BUT BE CURIOUS AS TO WHAT THEY WOULD LOOK LIKE. SO I ASKED ABOUT IT AND THE PROCEDURE SEEMED SIMPLE ENOUGH. I DIDN'T REALLY LIKE THE NERVE BLOCK, BUT ITS BETTER THAN NOT HAVING IT AT ALL. I THINK EVERYBODY FINDS NUMBING TO BE A STRANGE FEELING, BUT OTHER WISE IT WAS FINE. MY LIPS WHERE SLIGHTLY SWOLLEN FOR ABOUT A WEEK . MY LIPS LOOK LIKE THEMSELVES BUT FULLER, MORE NATURAL WHICH IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. NO DUCK LIPS HERE!! I HAD SLIGHT BRUISING, BUT I'M ALSO VERY FAIR SKINNED, SO NO SURPRISE THERE. I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS, AND IF YOUR UNHAPPY WITH YOUR LIPS ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT ! JUVEDERM STAYS IN YOUR BODY LONGER THAN RESTYLANE OR COLLAGEN, AND ITS SMOOTHER IN CONSISTENCY, SO IT LOOKS BETTER TOO. JUVEDERM CAN ALSO BE USED FOR OTHER PARTS OF THE FACE AS FILLER, AND THE RESULTS ARE JUST AS GOOD.

I have been getting Botox injections for the past two years and have not been completely satisfied with my results. My results have either looked unnatural or did not give me the look I was hoping to achieve. A friend recommended that I go to Malana Medical Spa and pay a visit to the Nurse, Stacy who performs "the best" injections she had ever had. After an in depth consultation, in which I was educated for the first time and given an honest answer about desired results, I was injected by Stacy. First of all, she was so gentle and the injections were painless. Secondly, she took her time and iced the areas before injecting me. Lastly, a full 10 days later the complete results are beautiful. It is not overdone and she proved to really know where and how much I needed for my particular needs! Thank you Stacy for the best BOTOX I have ever had.

THE LIPS OF A GODDESS!!! THANKS TO DR. PULERA

My lips have always been a bother to me. They were always plain. I called them
vanilla lips, never very exotic or intriguing. So, of course, there was something that had to be done about that. I have always been an avid fan of all beauty magazines. One day I came across a glossy advertisement that made me envious and propelled me to seek the lips of this goddess. So with the magazine in hand and the excitement of finally achieving my beautiful lips I showed the ad to Dr. Pulera. Showing Dr. Pulera exactly what I wanted I put the immensely comfortable white Malana robe and sat in the treatment room as excited as ever. Listening to the exotic sounds of the Hawaiian music in the background and the sweet scents emanating from the candles made me so relaxed. Then the doctor came in and explained that I would be injected with anesthesia throughout my mouth. Expecting the shooting pain to come, I closed my eyes and opened my mouth. To my surprise I felt nothing but a tiny poke when the needle went in. Shortly after my whole mouth became numb. Then Dr. Pulera began his artistry in sculpting Juvederm injections both to my upper and lower lips. I felt nothing. Then the mirror was handed to me so that I could analyze my lips. They were the exact lips that I wanted in the ad. I had the goddess lips!!!!!! So after about an hour or so the anesthetic wore off and I could not stop looking at them. Any chance I got I would run to the mirror. I glossed them up, and off I went that same night to a have dinner with friends. When I walked in I was met by stares and open mouths. They loved them and I loved them. After a week I began getting complements on how natural and full they looked. I love my new lips they complement my face and make me look so much better .... They are my goddess lips!

I am so excited about my results, I just have to tell everyone!
I recently bought laser hair removal packages at Malana Medical Spa. I am doing it all, legs bikini, underarms and that embarassing hair on my lip and chin. I tried another place in Los Angeles for Laser hair removal and their laser did not give me the results that I am getting at Malana. Laser skin resurfacing is the latest technology to improve the appearance of scars, fine lines, wrinkles and poor skin texture. Let's give a quick overview of how this technology works.

Pixel laser skin resurfacing uses microthermal treatment zones. Every laser pulse creates tiny ablative zones that remove the epidermis and dermis. This triggers the body's own healing process and stimulates the growth of new healthy tissue surrounding the ablative zones. By treating smaller areas and leaving surrounding tissue intact, the skin heals quickly with dramatic results. An added benefit of Pixel treatment is also increasing collagen production, which will continue for several months after treatment.

Now that we have a better idea of how the Pixel laser works, what is it used for? The Pixel is great for wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. Stacy Pulera, R.N., B.S.N., Aesthetic Nurse Specialist

Stacy received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Pensacola Christian College in 2002. She has previously worked as an ICU nurse and has considerable experience performing cosmetic treatments. Stacy combines her ability to deliver gentle, compassionate care with an extensive knowledge of science and nursing. She has received comprehensive, physician-supervised training in performing laser treatments, Botox injections and dermal fillers.

Mark R. Pulera, M.D., Medical Director

Dr. Pulera graduated from Mount Sinai School of Medicine 1993 and completed his Residency at UCLA School of Medicine in 1997. He is a Board-Certified Neurologist and has been in private practice in the Los Angeles area for over 8 years. Dr. Pulera’s interest in cosmetic medicine has developed from multiple scientific disciplines including mechanisms of cellular death, laser science and dermatology. Dr. Pulera has completed extensive, physician-supervised training in cosmetic laser treatment as well as Botox injections and dermal fillers.

Question: Does Malana Medical Spa provide any surgical cosmetic treatment?

Answer: No, all of our treatments at Malana Medical Spa are non-surgical. Our treatments include laser treatments, photofacials, fractional ablative skin resurfacing, Botox, dermal fillers, Cosmelan masks and European facials.

Question: Will my treatment cause any down time?

Answer: Most of our treatments such as IPL laser, Botox and Dermal fillers cause no undesirable visible changes in the skin. You can resume normal activities immediately after these procedures and no one will notice anything except your enhanced beauty! Treatments such as the Pixel laser can cause redness or peeling of the skin for several days after the procedure, but can offer the most dramatic results for conditions such as fine lines and wrinkles and poor skin tone and texture.

Question: Will my treatment hurt?
