Laser Hair Removal Questions Answered

Are you considering Laser Hair removal but just can’t decide due to your unanswered questions? Well, let’s clear up these questions and help you understand what hair removal with AFT (Advanced Fluorescence Technology) Pulsed Light is really all about. The Harmony Laser by Alma Lasers uses pulsed light which damages the hair follicles putting a stop to hair growth. You will see a reduction in the hair growth after one or two treatments; however we recommend hair removal packages of 6 treatments to obtain optimal results. If you are satisfied with your hair reduction after 4 treatments, you can save the other two for touch up treatments 6 months to a year later. No laser on the market today can guarantee 100% hair removal due to hormonal changes causing random hair growth, however our goal at Malana is 80% hair reduction which is truly incredible. During each treatment here at Malana, our nurse performs double passing to each area which means she treats the area twice in order to ensure no hair follicles have been missed. Hair removal is done every 6 weeks because hair follicles go through periods of dormancy and growth. As AFT pulsed light only affects hair follicles that are actively producing hair at the time of treatment, resting follicles must enter the growth phase before they can be actively treated, this is why treatment every 6 weeks is essential for optimal results. Next, you may ask does the treatment hurt? The treatment actually feels like little rubber bands snapping. We do offer topical anesthetic prior to treatment which decreases any discomfort if so desired. The great thing about the Harmony laser is that pulsed light with AFT treats unwanted hair with quick and safe bursts of light. This amazing hair removal laser involves no downtime so you can continue your regular activities immediately after treatment. The darker the hair and the lighter the skin in the area of desired removal, the more effective the treatment will be.
Best of all, this non-invasive approach yields permanent hair reduction and long-term hair removal anywhere on the body. Just like any of our other spa treatments, financing is available. With summer here, it’s the time to start your hair removal so you can be ready for those summer clothes and swimsuits and not have to worry about shaving and waxing. Come in today for your free consultation and let us answer any questions you may have on hair removal and help you determine if hair removal with AFT Pulsed light is right for you. Q&A

Question: Does Malana Medical Spa provide any surgical cosmetic treatment?

Answer: No, all of our treatments at Malana Medical Spa are non-surgical. Our treatments include laser treatments, photofacials, fractional ablative skin resurfacing, Botox, dermal fillers, Cosmelan masks and European facials.

Question: Will my treatment cause any down time?

Answer: Most of our treatments such as IPL laser, Botox and Dermal fillers cause no undesirable visible changes in the skin. You can resume normal activities immediately after these procedures and no one will notice anything except your enhanced beauty! Treatments such as the Pixel laser can cause redness or peeling of the skin for several days after the procedure, but can offer the most dramatic results for conditions such as fine lines and wrinkles and poor skin tone and texture.

Question: Will my treatment hurt?

Answer: Some of our cosmetic procedures can cause minor discomfort. However, Malana Medical Spa utilizes several methods of pain control including topical anesthetic, skin cooling and nerve blocks. Our anesthetic treatments can completely eliminate any discomfort you may experience from our procedures.

Question: Are the treatments safe?

Answer: At Malana Medical Spa, your safety is our top priority. All of our staff has had comprehensive, physician-supervised training. We use only the most technologically-advanced equipment and latest techniques. We only perform treatments that we feel are completely safe and effective.

Question: What if I cannot afford my treatment?

Answer: We have financing available for all of our clients. We can custom-design a payment plan to fit your needs.

Question: Does Malana Medical Spa treat men?

Answer: Yes. More and more men are getting cosmetic treatments for conditions such as hair removal, fine lines and wrinkles, and acne-related conditions.
